So have had a a20dth engine go bang (oil pump seal). I went and bought another 2.0 engine to get fitted however on fitting have realised it is a A20dt/lbr... now engine loom, ecu, body control module, clocks and immobiliser chip/transponder have also been changed.. and it won't turn over or fire.. the original engine had a 3 pin crank sensor and new one has 2 pin.. however I assumed with all the ecu kit been swapped it would register for the difference.. with the original ecu kit fitted the engine turns over but won't fire due to no signal from the crank sensor..... is there something else needed or have I totally messed up with the engine codes?

Can't think of anything that would do the job apart from running a cable from further up the vehicle to the rear? -
Will do. Just waiting for the bearing to turn up. And then the fun will begin. Done the engine coolant flush yesterday, so that's another box ticked. I'm getting there slowly.

Someone suggested giving it a diesel flush treatment which I didn't have time to do, so I did a double shot of Millers Diesel treatment ahead of my monthly trip from Cornwall and Essex and back and since then I must say it has not happened again (and the car sure does drive better with no knocking or anything and lots more power) so perhaps was just a clogged injector? I did order a new Crankshaft sensor but I think ive got the wrong one as the spacing between the sensor and the bold looks different, and also despite best efforts I could not reach the dam thing anyway. - Last week

I really appreciate the stuff you sent earlier. Vauxhall's attitude is appalling over this. Trying to say it was a fault in my car that caused it. The auto electrician tried to update it today using a Vauxhall card and it did the same thing . . Said it was not compatible -

Might be worth trying an impact gun (pneumatic or battery) which will spin the nuts off -
if you take it to a dealer they should be able to identify it and provide a new one

I have this code 68 come on every so often but I've noticed if I park in gear without handbrake (electric handbrake) the code doesn't come on the next time I start the car however when applying handbrake the starting the car code 68 I had the car scanned diagnostics and code U0121-00 is displayed not this is the handbrake failing to engage with the car and ideas where to start sort out handbrake module or power steering code 68

Hi I'm having the same issue did you manage to sort this? -
Hi everyone, I'm in the process of doing maintenance on the astra. I am going to do a coolant flush and refresh, and also sort out the egr system. Does the coolant work with the egr, as I've noticed that the heater pipes are connected to the pipework from egr. And would having a clogged coolant system cause the egr to misbehave? Thanks in advance Andy
