ok so the problem is intermitantly the drivers controls for the windows wont work and when it starts to work again it only operates the drivers window but only if you drive the car for about 10 mins. i have had a few zafiras so straight to check the wiring and clean the switch no issues withg the wiring even through the rubber gaiter at the door and the switch is lovely and clean i even tried another switch but still no change. i have had a look at the BCU behind the glovebox under the aircon unit but cant see any obvious water damage. does anyone have any suggestions

Hi everyone, I thought I would introduce myself to you all as I think I have some interesting history with Vauxhall. Back in the late 1950/Early 1960 my father worked at the Vauxhall plant in Luton, not really sure what he did, but probably on the production line somewhere. My earliest recollection of the car he drove was a Bedford CA Dormobile, I don't know that much about it other than the Reg number of NEW641 and the memories of places we visited with this vehicle, believe me we did some miles in it. The next car he owned probably around 1966 was a truly fantastic car, The Vauxhall Cresta PA Estate reg number UPM70, what a lovely car that was. Next was the PC Cresta saloon, another work of art, then he purchased ( brand new) probably with staff discount a Viva Van, not quite sure what model HA or HB in white, as a second vehicle in the household, I do remember that he tought both my Mother and my eldest sister to drive in it. So as you can imagine there is a bit of Vauxhall in my blood, currently I own a VX220, and a Mavano van that has been converted to a Campervan and there have been many other Vauxhall's in-between, as well as some interesting history with a vauxhall dealer where I worked for a few years. Just a short taster of many years with Vauxhall, if anyone is interested send me a message and I'll get back to you. Thanks for reading this, all the best

Hi there, there is a section on here that is solely for sales. Either vehicles or parts. If you stick some pictures and a price, there might be someone that may be interested.

TechBeard started following 1.7CDTI Starts with a clatter, dies, STARTS ITSELF?!
-
Howdy! I am hoping someone will know what on earth is going on with my faithful 2013 Astra J 1.7CDTI SRI EcoFlex. It's starting to do something very weird after you try to restart the engine when it's hot. So for example in the video below id driven for 40 mins, stopped at a restaurant for about 30 mins and then tried to restart the car. If you leave your foot on the clutch the engine tries to start with a horrible clatter, then dies, then STARTS ITSELF! then dies, and repeats this process until eventually it starts. I have found flooring the throttle does seem to help make it start faster. There are no codes on my OBD2 scanner, and it does not happen every time, but is certainly worrying when it does. Does anyone have any idea? Youtube issue of issue

Occasionally when trying to start the car, I turn the key and nothing happens, no relays click. I remove the key reinsert it and sometimes it starts sometimes it takes numerous attempts. This usually happens in the morning first attempt and then usually ok that day, but not always.

2002 Astra 2.2 cabriolet. Timing fault baffling mechanics
Ezekiel1979 replied to Chris Cally's topic in 1998 to 2005 Astra
I wonder if it's as simple as just being the timings sensor fault. I've heard of people having to change these out after the timing chain being done and even having faulty brand new ones... don't know if that helps at all. -

That could work, however when you take to dealer they will ask if you went elsewhere before go to them! -

Hi , my merivas engine has locked/ seized. It happened when I had a traction control light & engine management light come on . The car would start but when engaging gears it jumped therefore I would stop & start it a few times then the engine management light & traction control light would go out & it would drive ok. So i was to take it to the garage a few days ago but the didn't start the next morning. RAC was called & they said the engine was locked. I now have an issue I don't know what causes the engine to lock if it was linked with the electric fault or not . Does anyone have any idea what i can do. I brought from the dealership & there's of 45 genuine miles on the clock. Locl garage say they will charge £100 an hour & can only tell me what's up when they strip the engine. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Last week week when I contacted customer service, they sent me a new file while mentioning FAT32. Unfortunately, this didn't work. I then purchased a new USB stick and downloaded everything again, but it still didn't work. Since I have a Mac, I wondered if that might be the problem, so I tried using my partner's Windows computer, but it still didn't work. After returning from the dealership, I called them to express my frustration, and they opened a complaint. They assured me that someone from Vauxhall would reach out to the dealer. However, the dealer claimed they couldn't resolve the issue, and I had already paid £120! -

If you ring Vauxhall customer service, ask to speak to connected services. Their not quite as hopeless as the ones that answer the phone! -

I was afraid of that? Vauxhall have sent me a different download today, say it must be FAT32 usb but the download is to being to go on a FAT32 partitioned drive. You really couldn't make it up! Utterly useless
