My Vauxhall has done 48,000 miles and there is a whirring sound when starting the engine. Took it to mechanic and they say it’s an electrical fault as the check engine light comes on and needs to be seen by a specialist which in this case is Vauxhall themselves, I have booked into Vauxhall but have to wait ver a month to get it in. any help on this will be useful, see video below: -

Morning everyone, I have literally just joined and really hoping someone might be able to help or throw some light on this problem. I bought my 65 plate Mokka just before Christmas 2023 from our local Vauxhall dealer. I love my car - it's the Bracca Blue (hope I've spelt that correctly) which I am told Vauxhall's launched the Mokka range in. Really pleased with it. I'd had a replacement hip 3mths previously and my much loved Astra was proving just too low for me but the Mokka, being that little bit higher, has really helped. The car itself has done a few long journeys with no problems. Had it's first service back at the garage I bought it from (who are no longer a Vauxhall dealer) back in December 2024. Then 3 days before Christmas I discovered - to my horror - that a large piece of paint had come off the bonnet. Since then a few more bits have come off and it looks awful. My partner thought he'd read somewhere that most car manufacturers guarantee their paint for 10yrs but he now can't remember where he read this piece of information. Everyone who has seen the bonnet goes 'OMG' because it does look dreadful. So, my question is, has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering if that car had been resprayed at some point or if this Bracca Blue is prone to paint coming off? Many thanks, Londonlass -
Vauxhall Insignia keyless version. Can't remember model. But local garage that did the service wasn't sure how to reset it either. They said it may be a dashboard fault, hence I took it to Vauxhall dealer. They charged ~£80 and I found out that he plugged in laptop to reset it rather than fix the dashboard. However managed to reset it myself after reading this thread. As it's keyless start, you can't access the oil options without the engine being started. I selected the reset while holding break and clutch when I confirmed reset. Still no change. However after stopping and starting engine again, it came back with 100% oil life. So not sure what the exact sequence is required. -

Trying to establish oil I need for the easytronic S A I'm guessing Dot 4, and assume it's the little housing to lower right of the engine , I plan to pump.out what I can and do a few partial changes , as its looking very dark. 2006 1.6 petrol Meriva Easytronic S.A am I correct it's just by /below brake hydraulic unit Dot 4
