  1. Much appreciated. I’ve been told by somebody who just had their insignia battery replaced. That it had to be registered on the system which I imagine is a diagnostic Vauxhall only thing. Thanks

  2. Update for the roof So I removed all the trim from inside the boot to get access to the Roof ECU, I replaced it with the one I got from Ebay from a known working car. I reset the roof positions and turn on, now I get 12 beeps instead of the 6 beeps from before the replacement. The only thing left to do replace the roof hydraulic pump. tune in soon for the next installment of Cabby Roof problems Cliff

  3. Hi there I own a 1986 Vauxhall Carlton 2.2GLi petrol, It’s the last of the mk2 before the more rounded model. I can remember when I had my first one tgat was also petrol that I bought the circuit board and a garage wired it so the low fuel light would work. I now want to do the same again. I have the circuit board that slips behind the fuel gauge but am unsure how to wire it in. the board has 4 pins attached to it and looking at the circuit diagram there’s one wire that goes from one side of the fuel gauge and the other wire to the other side of the fuel gauge. I would imagine that the other 2 pins are for the light. can somebody please help me out with the wiring Tia.

  4. Since getting an iphone 15, when I start the car and connect the phone it seems to require a few disconnect/reconnects to get it all working. It seems to lose comms with the phone or something, and after flashing up carplay briefly it goes back to the vauxhall infotainment screen and then doesn't recognise there is a phone connected. Sometimes it does this twice. I wouldn't rule out the cable i guess (it's a new one as the phones are now USB-C), but it was a decent quality one. Another thing I have noticed is that when it disconnects from carplay, the car reports that the phone disconnects from bluetooth too.

  5. Just wondering if anyone else has found they cannot get map updates for the Satnav fitted to the Astra Griffin 2021 model. After 18 months of numerous emails and phone calls with Vauxhall Customer Care I was eventually told recently that the contract with HERE (the company that provides updates for most Vauxhall models) does not cover the satnav fitted into the Astra Griffin because it seemingly fell through the cracks at the time when General Motors sold Vauxhall. Vauxhall Customer Care admitted that they had no technical solution and, despite their website explaining how important it is to keep satnavs updated, they did not consider that they had any obligation to provide updates or an alternative satnav as (in their opinion) the satnav still works and I could easily use Android Auto through my modile phone if I wanted more current maps. They did accept that it should not have taken 18 months for them to tell me why there was no facility to update the maps and offered me a good will payment in recognition of their less than satisfactory customer service but they were adamant that this was not in any way a compensation payment. They flatly refused to replace the satnav and also refused to pay for a third party satnav company to fit a replacement. I assume that other Astra Griffin owners will have encountered the same problem.
