Hello VOC, I've just signed up to the forum as I presently own a 2007 Vectra C 1.8 vvt SRi having bought it in Nov 22 with 61,000 miles on the clock. This is my first Vectra but I'm by no means new to Vauxhall having owned the following - Astra Mk2 1.8 GTE and 2.0 16v GTE. Cavalier Mk2 1.8 CDi 5 door,1.8 SRi 4 door,2.0 SRi 4 door,2.0 SRi130 5 door and Calibre. Cavalier MK3 2 x 1.6GL 5 door,1.6LS 4 door ,1.8LS 5 door,2.0 SRi 5 door,2 x GSi2000,SRi16v Redtop 4 door,SRi16v Ecotec 5 door. The majority of the above I modified some mildly and others extensively. As for me I live in Scotland and drive HGVs for living. In my mid 40s apart from a huge passion for cars, owning and driving but as much modifying and rebuilding (Not just Vauxhall but Fords from the late 60s to early 90s OR in other words pre Mondeo,Escorts up to and inc MK3s,especially mk3 in fact,MKi Fiestas, all Capris,Cortinas and Sierras. In fact,I've a large history of Ford ownership too) but I also have played guitar for a long time, love history and much more. Bob3 points

Hi PJL, we have the 2013 Meriva and expected Bluetooth but it is not present on our model. There is a 'Phone' option on the control module but, similarly, not Bluetooth device to connect to or option in the controls. I purchased the below USB/3.5mm dongle from Amazon for £12 and it works great. Plugs in low in the console towards the gearstick and plugs into the Aux 3.5mm jack. After pairing your phone once, just press the 'Aux' button to switch to your phone for music or calls. Hope this works for you. Thank you very much for all your correspondence, I checked for miles or Kilometres, you were correct it was Kilometers, went back to garage and said to them as they put kilometre reading in miles on the MOT, they reset it to miles and now are going to inform DVLA about the error, I also am going to write to DVLA as it's on my MOT I'd done 34000 miles more than I had, was convinced the odometer was faulty, what an idiot I feel, now back to miles now, Thank you so much for your help much appreciated.2 points

Just a quick hello. I used to be a member of this forum years ago when I had an Omega Elite. The interaction there was great, I did all the work on the car myself and there were loads of guys that really knew their stuff. I'm hoping there will be some people who know lots about the Insignia VXR as I've got some issues to fix and there is not very much technical documentation on the internet, or to buy for that matter!2 points

Hi. New member checking in, and for me, that usually means only one thing . . . I have a problem with a car! Member by proxy this time, my Daughter's car. 1600 2011 Astra Estate. I'll do some searching, then post a topic if I can't find the answer. Cheers. 'Doc' (John)1 point

Hi there Richard. To manually open your boot, you need to climb in from the rear seats. Once you get in to the luggage area you need to look for a small hole near to the latch. By inserting a screwdriver into the hole, you can then release the boot. Apparently this is a common fault, and the release button will need to be replaced. I did a google search, and it came up with a couple of videos on YouTube that show you how to do all that I have described. Hope this helps, and you get it all sorted. Regards Andy1 point

Thank you mate. I must admit that I am going to leave well alone, if its not broke, don't fix. I have re-connected the sensor, and unless I get a problem with it, I'm leaving it well alone too. Just need to do a complete coolant flush now, as it seems a bit cruddy. Have fresh anti-freeze at the ready.1 point

Hi Andy It is possible that the waterpump impellor isn't working as well as it was when it was new and in the case of some old BMWs the impellor used to come off the shaft and sit idle and blocking the waterways. Remarkably, the engine gave no symptoms of any issues except for when sitting in traffic (thermosyphon system working as it should do) Worth replacing if in doubt but also don't forget the coolant expansion cap on the reservoir as if this is faulty then it can cause the same symptoms1 point

Hello there. The car started misfiring. I took it to my mechanic whe said it a cracked plug due to overheating. He repaired it and it was fine for a day. Unfortunately I had to take her back to the mechanic. He advised that part of the old plug had dropped in the engine and done some damage. There is a little rust over the rear offside wheel arch. The height adjustment on the drivers seat needs some attention. Due to the age we have decided to let it go. It is too good to go to the scrappers so I am hoping an enthusiast will enjoy the challenge to get her running again.1 point

hi everybody, this sundays meeting was a local club the stratford and henly in arden meet. the rain was attrocious, really hammering down which really put the moccas on everything. mind you, i never used the wipers before, not sure if they worked but they were really good. being driven off the camshaft the faster i went the faster the wipers went, unlike the early ford vacuum set up!! also it was a real good test for the roof and not a drop leaked in but the misting up was a problem solved by having the quarter lights open, remember them!!!1 point

MOT'd till October, 106k, I have owned this car since 2008, only selling now as I have had to buy an estate for the dog. The car has been maintained regardless of cost over those years and runs perfectly, highlights include: - Timing chain replaced at around 65k. - Traction control switch fitted with all OE parts - Chris Tullet Tubular 4to1 exhaust manifold. - Stainless steel cat back exhaust (Scorpion). - Ported / polished throttle body. - GSI rear arch spats - Uprated / lowered Eibach springs. - Pioneer head unit, Pioneer speakers front (separates) and back. - EGR deleted. Now for the bad points: - Air con pump seized, replacement will be included. - Small dent in bonnet, superficial and easy repair. - small hole in exhaust downpipe flexi joint. - 1 boot hinge needs repair. Apart from the above minor issues the car is in great shape, I have tried to list everything and be as honest as possible, I am not desperate to sell the car so please don't make any silly offers.1 point

Whenever I sell a car i am always upfront and honest. The paintwork needs a bit of tlc, I have got the cutting compound for it however I don't have the time. Around 4 months ago a hare decided that it was going to jump out into the road on a bend and hit the front bumper. Only bumper damage. These are shown in the pictures. What I can tell you though is that whoever buys this car is going to get reliability. I have had the car for two years and it has never let me down once. It pulls a caravan with no problems and it has been on trips to the Highlands , North Wales , Lake District etc.. These cars are getting increasingly rare on the roads now especially the petrol estate version. MOT till March 2025. Last year it had a new clutch, new brake lines, head lights replaced, back box replaced. Comes with an aftermarket touch screen stereo as well with Bluetooth for Spotify , air/car play etc.. Reason for sale is I sold my caravan and once this has been sold I want to buy a camper1 point

Sorted it! I discovered there is a module behind the nearside panel in the boot, and I had disturbed the wiring whilst in there last weekend (I keep my hi viz vest there and de icer) I pushed all the connections into the module to be sure they were fully engaged, and, hey presto, all was working again.1 point

Had the water pump off to be sure theres nothing wrong there, all is good, whilst at it ive found a bleed screw on the radiator, so at least i know my radiator is full, however i have still not been able to bleed the system fully, So the next thing is to buy a Vacuum refill kit so i can make sure there no air in the system as i fill it up.... really cant believe all the trouble im having!!!1 point

You are correct in most of the procedure but I would put the cap on before the temperature rises too high. Once if has had chance to settle down then release the cap when safe to do so (gradually to allow pressure to release and keep clear of the boiling water). The level will then drop slightly. Refill to the level and do the same until the level no longer drops. Always ensure the cap is tight and never release when hot and with too much pressure behind it.1 point

Hi all, new member here! I have just taken ownership of a 2006 Monaro VXR with the 6.0 LS2 motor and they seem to be quite rare these days, so much so, that my local Vauxhall dealership who were the Monaro VXR specialists at the time it was originally purchased no longer support the car and cannot offer any service support or parts. I am looking to hopefully connect with other Monaro VXR owners to learn more about the car ie common problems/defects etc, maintenance tips and where to source even just everyday consumables, filters, belts, plugs and so on. The car is in exceptional condition having only done 14k since new and im hoping i can keep it that way for many years to come!!! Anyway any help would be very much appreciated thanks.1 point
