  1. Add some cleaning additives that are readily available from Halfords and give it a proper 'Italian Tuneup' which will probably resolve the issues at little cost
  2. It may be worthwhile to do so if the car is approaching the replacement mileage and then all the jobs in one hit
  3. Hi....welcome to the Club It seems like the car was driven conservatively when it comes to engine revs. A diesel needs revving to clear out the carbon deposits and keep everything clean and free to move. Typical example of components affected by carbon build up....EGR, Turbo Vanes, DPF, etc Good quality fuel and proper revs in lower gears will resolve this issue Let us know how you get on with it all in the future.
  4. Hi Guys and Gal's We are reaching out to all Vauxhall Owners Club members to see if there are any Vauxhall owners' looking to be a bigger part of the club and help contribute posts or help new members or simply just talk Vauxhall. We are looking for a small team of at least 6 people to be part of the team and encourage more discussion, arrange Vauxhall events within the UK and be part of a growing team. If you would like to be a club team member then message @Vauxhall Owners Club
  5. I'm surprised it hasn't switched off after the doors were locked. You may be able to alter the settings for duration time it stays on after ignition off
  6. Thanks for sharing this info with us, I'm sure there will be plenty of other owners suffering from this problem who will be grateful to know the fix
  7. Did you ever find a conclusion to this issue? That is a crazy fuel consumption and suggests the engine is in dire need of servicing (filters, fluids, decarbonising, etc)
  8. Hi NIck A diagnosis with a Smoke Generator should instantly reveal the source of the leak. Some garages have this tool but also not too expensive to buy nowadays
  9. Hi Dererk the HP pump relies on a lift pump (low pressure) to draw fuel. I haven't seen many external LP pumps in engine bays for quite some time so more than likely in the fuel tank.
  10. Sounds like it could be the immobiliser. Try locking and unlocking the car several times and see if this makes a difference
  11. Thanks for the info Graham and useful to show the readings gained from filling with 10 litres, albeit difficult to know the exact distance before empty as depends on driving style, etc
  12. Hi Susan It is a tough decision but I am sure there are plenty of car enthusiasts who would like to take on a project vehicle that is quite rapidly becoming a modern day classic. You are welcome to place an advert in this forum at no cost and see if any members are interested. https://www.vauxhallownersclub.com/forums/forum/22-vauxhalls-for-sale/ It may be wise to add some photos to show the condition
  13. Hi Mark....welcome to the Club I would say it sounds like the variable vanes in the turbo are sticking (gummed up with carbon) which is a common fault it the turbo is not often wound up to boost often enough. Could recommend a turbo cleaning solution and a damn good high revs blast to clear it through. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331754313002?hash=item4d3e19152a:g:h5EAAOSw4Ehag~qM https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152003334878?epid=1523879080&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item23641ad2de:g:lQ4AAOSwZ8ZW2O4l&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACkPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsStEKTPzZMfQmny3knR97t0Nibf3MUsw2ePec05TNBCjp1KMX879Lx1RVj6dZ7rLu2G%2Bwrq0d4fxb86Hd9G8wapLnSgkZs6Cr2SfMM2jCPixpPJl12uo78V9uwFaFBvGDKG0BqiWYXn3VYZPgW4A6pv0jZydpmAYzAuyCcxyl50qAeQEkG5XQOsQH%2FCa3pIkFHKl97n7D1SDPGDJC6yQpbek15ICj8FstV%2FKejaLzufRGvSAN%2Fcn9W9nwbVUeOixuIxAIrX0v0LkVNL6z3%2Bn1PI11%2Fv4o7OZSCbI6a%2BWbfnCtm%2BwpRRccnPoY8ApaFR881D%2FkYVzFdJFu48FHooGuZKzjaqeoEZJz%2FVV7uMWM2Y95vchz2nLUEKjhAXGuUdq65vSx6FuJIZE0wjpov2baKKB37sG3jwKZO62ZDzx4QE7N5FBbejObEGfh0I1HW3mfzT0VRDsUEx6SSIN3yt8QDhvZYtpQmUTBXVhJrL4F4BMDiVLNhIe22xOWV8Fi5NT0GdlhJ4voTF34AGmm7MULI6s%2F1rsqyIHb7voYHfEk3g66bNQ%2B8kr%2BXR1xPesO%2F5RP378X7HwMsBYavcdI6jZkKGb1DeLvYTqPppognRpJHMUOwgmf45PwiAYeZdVCexqpjgXuELdOmPMLd%2BFiSfQGJ%2BaAaGfMFekg54f9FRGQtRGkBnXzXt3Bin7rG0D6dZfAQS563Q2NdFNbEOhb3ppMn9mB1HIiLZQQpfUyZUXUduo8mB15eZKYt65cnsxNZdwbbiH6ypPWlWAxoBlmy0Hb%2FmwSvgOCZm7yj1NF7B%2BsR2WdJVSBIbjrWlnQ8FMTRHnkg|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2334524
  14. Sounds like a good route to diagnosis, let us know what they find to be the cause of the noise
  15. It sounds very much like transmission bearings (internal) or a Dual Mass Flywheel or a clutch release bearing. Either way, it would necessitate removal of the transmission to diagnose and rectify If it is still driveable and not getting any worse then it could go on for many more miles if you can put up with the noise If in doubt, then a visit to the garage is imminent by the sound of it
  16. It may not work as the original wiring would be running through the HID igniter and you would have to run different wiring through a relay for it to work.
  17. Could try Halfords to see what they have in their range for your Vauxhall model
  18. Sounds like it could be a PCV valve or similar which is releasing pressure or resetting. If it is making that sort of noise then if one of the lines is running pressure or vacuum and is split then it can create this noise Carefully examine the hoses going to the unit
  19. You would be best to pop into your local Vauxhall dealership and ask the question. Maybe wouldn't be too costly but if you can get the part number then you can search online as these may have been fitted to many other models of Vauxhall
  20. Hi Raj....welcome to the Club I would imagine the original component would have Vauxhall / GM branding printed on it with a part number. I suppose an aftermarket one is fine and would work just as well
  21. Hi Ian ..... welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard!
  22. Well firstly it is amber which is a warning lamp but low priority, if it were red I would be concerned. It looks like a traction control light which should disappear as you drive away and it can get the correct readings from the sensors.
  23. Hi....welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard!
  24. I wouldn't think the power increase is enough to cause issues as its well within what the manufacturers would map it up to (they always allow a margin under what the engine is capable of)
