Automatic gearbox filter/sump
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to AndyR's topic in Vauxhall Owners Lounge
Sounds like a plan Andy, keep us updated on progress as usual -
Hi Andy Sounds like the EGR was jamming open which means you could either clean it in an ultrasonic bath or replace it. I have previously used an EGR blanking plate successfully and always ensure that the EGR stays connected but the plate has a small hole in it to allow enough gas to flow to fool the sensor and not flag up the engine warning light. But if. your economy and performance are where they should be then thats all that matters. Always good though to keep the revs up through the gears as the engine runs cleaner in the long run. I have this thought in my head that every car in Italy runs superb and nothing ever clogs up with the way they drive their cars

Vauxhall Corsa C 1.0 2005 body module kit
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Speedbird's topic in Vauxhall Owners Lounge
Hi Rhys.....welcome to the Club If the car is turning over then it is not an immobiliser fault which I believe the CanBus gateway (instrument panel and BCM) would be affected by. Chances are it is more likely to the Crankshaft or Camshaft sensor at fault. Also, check to see the camshaft is turning and that the belt/chain has not snapped -
There are some companies on eBay that can build a stainless system and even 'tune' the sound to your preferences

Automatic gearbox filter/sump
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to AndyR's topic in Vauxhall Owners Lounge
Hi Andy I cannot make out from the photo as to whether there is a flat plate with bolts that can be removed and housing a flat filter? Here are some video links so if you can see if any resemble your gearbox and it may give a clue to location of the filter https://www.google.com/search?q=2002+vauxhall+astra+automatic+gearbox+filter&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB935GB935&source=lnms&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjIp6vH_NLwAhXHA2MBHS2wBmcQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=2284&bih=1223 -
I would take chance and drive through some other countries that aren't so vigilant...Austria should be okay if you stay off the toll roads I would imagine?

Advice urgently required
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Andybhoy114's topic in New Members Introductions
Maybe worth part exchanging it as they would give you a better price against the purchase of another vehicle? -
Hi Trevor.....welcome to the Club I would imagine that the best thing to do is to book in an MOT test at your local garage and get them to text you the appointment details. This is then proof that you are driving to the MOT station (albeit in England) and this is legitimate as the certificate expired whilst out of the country. The only thing I would ensure is that the car is 100% road legal....tyres, lights, brakes, etc. Let us know how it all goes Cheers, Trevor

It should be relatively straight forward procedure. I wonder if the ignition was on during the process?

Yes thats right Andy, if you were going to wire a switch to the fan then something like a Kenlowe fan kit would be ideal modification to go with

Hi Andy.....welcome to the Club The Carlton and Cavalier were such good cars back in the day, unfortunately I think tin worm took out most of them that were on the road. Haven't seen any around for a long time now Good to have you onboard!

Ah thats a possiblility Andy. I did also wonder if it could have been an Ambient Air Temperature Sensor which are usually mounted behind the bumper to get the air flow and measure the outside temperature. But there would only be one plug so if you have two plugs then chances are it is what you say, driving lamps.

Hi....welcome to the Forum There are several double din stereos available in Halfords that would suit your needs and you should also be able to pick up a lead adapter to suit as well. As for the heated seats, you may need to code them into the car to acquire the current required to power them, otherwise they should fit and plug in as normal

It looks like it should plug into a sender unit, which may have been present on the previous radiator (if replaced) and not equipped on the one that is in the car. I would also move it around in the radius of its available length to see what sensors or plugs are in the area

CD400
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Hazza4728's topic in Vauxhall Audio / Video / Electronics / Security Systems
It should have the capability but need to check to see if activated. Also, some of these units develop faults so it could be as a result of an issue with the hardware/software. Quite a bit of info on faults with these systems, worth a trawl through these forums and also our good friend 'Google' -
Hi.....welcome to the Club Does the car have air conditioning? With Air Con, the fans run to draw air through the condensor so it may be that running. Try turning it off and see if the fans stops, if not then it could be a defective coolant sender on the radiator
-
It should be capable of opening and closing when battery voltage is supplied to it but it is usually cycled via the ECU. Try putting 12 volts to from the battery but careful not to short out anything directly back to the battery (risk of fire, explosion, etc)

As far as I remember i think you will need to remove it access the bolt doesn't mean it has to go back in though -
Opel Vectra C 2.2 92kw 2004 dti won't start.
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Lukis's topic in 2002 to 2005 Vectra
I would change the crankshaft sensor and also look at the camshaft sensor as well if in doubt (quite cheap to purchase and relatively easy to fit as well -
Vehicle service soon alarm
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Tom.ed82's topic in Vauxhall Insignia Club
I would check that the service lamp has been properly reset. It has to been done with a scan tool as the oil needs resetting to mileage and this requires the scanner to do this. -
Shame it didn't work out of the box Andy, it may have been the incorrect part number for that engine? Maybe worth posting it in the Parts For Sale section of this forum to see if its any good to any members

Hi Andy Can you take photo of the plug so it shows the location of it Cheers, Trevor
