  1. First thing I would do is to check the battery is totally up to par for the cranking and have you tried easystart to see if it fires?

  3. a motorsport parts dealer such as DemonTweeks may have the parts to do this modification as older Vauxhalls used to compete in the day
  4. Hi....welcome to the club Not many of those left on the roads now! New fabric can be used to retrim seats and roof at a vehicle trimmers...the old stock (if any) would be well past sell by date and degraded by now
  5. Sounds very much like a fault Body Control Module (BCM) but check all power and earth leads on the vehicle first

Hi Andy It is possible that the waterpump impellor isn't working as well as it was when it was new and in the case of some old BMWs the impellor used to come off the shaft and sit idle and blocking the waterways. Remarkably, the engine gave no symptoms of any issues except for when sitting in traffic (thermosyphon system working as it should do) Worth replacing if in doubt but also don't forget the coolant expansion cap on the reservoir as if this is faulty then it can cause the same symptoms
  7. yes usually just the one bulb and possibly access from behind the lamp unit (if not remove the lamp unit to access)
  8. blimey thats a bit of a faff to put it in neutral Mind you, the instructions are for the car washes where they require the car to move....most car washes the car is stationary
  9. Maybe disconnect the battery leave for a few minutes and reconnect. then try to set the clock and see what happens
  10. how very odd! its way too big for an earth electrode it seems like the bend is too accurate for it to have been caused by the piston beating it into shape must be something that has dropped in but from where? Intake manifold - have seen acoustic valves and associated hardware being induced through from the inlet manifold but don't recognise that part at all.
  11. Is it a new box or reconditioned? Are you sure the oil is transmission or could it be engine oil?

  13. Heater motor or resistor pack faulty?
  14. I use iCarSoft scanner on Vauxhalls which seems to work well I suspect it is the turbocharger at fault, particularly the variables vanes not moving or gummed up. If this does throw a code for the turbo then maybe look at cleaning it with a cleaning solution which may help matters
  15. Not sure about the towbars but check the connections under the seats (usually coloured yellow) to see if they are connected and in good condition (e.g. not been damaged by the seat mechanism)
  16. Its hard to judge the size of it but looks like the earth electrode from a spark plug.....maybe it was replaced previously and part of it remained in the cylinder?
  17. Hi Chris....welcome to the Club I would think it would have to be an insurance claim and would more than likely be written off if no replacement parts are available
  18. It may be the gauge is not too accurate rather than an issue with the engine temperature failing to get to the normal operating temperature. I would personally invest in an infra-red temperature gun (circa £20) and measure different parts of the engine as it heats up and then you'll know whether there is a fault (stuck thermostat) or whether the gauge is just there for effect
  19. has the exhaust got a leak? if there is an exhaust leak and it is blowing then it can cause this issue

  22. Check your battery (Halfords do a free test) and replace if necessary There is always more of a load on batteries during the colder weather

  24. I would be tempted to look on eBay for a replacement as don't think you'll get a new one nowadays
  25. Totally agree with AndyR it is usually the cause but also check the wiring is not poor connection (wiggle the lead going to the motor and resistor pack when fan switched on)
