I have just purchased a 2022 Vauxhall Crossland 1.2 ultimate turbo automatic, which has done around 9k miles. I've noticed that the heat shield get's extremely hot, even after a short drive. You can feel the heat escaping under the bonnet where there are gaps, for example where the bonnet meets the headlights. As a result, the bonnet itself is also very hot to touch. I have tried asking Vauxhall service department, but they want to book me in rather than give any advice over the phone, earliest appointment being 2 months from now. I asked a Vauxhall specialist, he advised me that it was a common thing in this model. Has anyone else with a similar make/model observed this? I'm concerned it could be something serious, although slightly relieved that there are no warning lights on the dashboard.
