It has a sunroof.

When i first bought the car in October I noticed the carpet in the boot was slightly wet, it is now soaking.

There’s no sign of water anywhere else and it is only the boot that is wet. Underneath the carpet is wet and the spare wheel is wet too but doesn’t appear to be a puddle in the well where the spare wheel sits. The side bits inside the boot feel and look slightly damp but no where near as wet as the rest

I have no idea what this could be..

There is quite a big hole when you open the fuel cap and the back arch on the drivers side is quite rusty but does not appear to be any holes. I have added pictures.

The rear washer jet has not worked since I got the car, I fiddled about with the hose going into this the other day and it did start working but has now stopped again .

Does anyone have any idea where the water could be coming from? And where do I start on trying to fix it?

I would think the most logical source of the water ingress is the washer jet hose has holed/come off the jet and is filling the boot with water.

Also, check the tailgate latch is securely bolted down and also adjusted to pull the tailgate into the body to ensure that the rubber seals are compressed enough to keep the water out....5 minute job!
