Tourer windscreen wipers

The Wiper motor works but only on the fastest setting and it takes about 10 seconds to start but works. The other settings on the stick wont work but moving up and down you can see it turn rain sense off and on any ideas ?

SOunds like an electrical connection has some corrosion in it 
Worth removing the plastic panel underneath the windscreen to access the wiper motor to then remove the connector block and see what the condition is like.
