Andyv6 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Hi all I'm after some advice, my v6 diesel is very jerky on throttle when she is cold to the point where you touch throttle and it kangaroos does any1 have any idea wat it could be? Any advice would be really appreciated Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 First thoughts would be to scan the ECU and see what codes are stored. Otherwise, if it is temperature related when the fault occurs then it may be the Coolant Temperature Sensor at fault Quote
Andyv6 Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 Hi thanks there are no faults at all. I sometimes get the spanner light come up and my bluetooth scanner shows something about torque converter automatic but my car is manual Quote
Andyv6 Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 Also when I'm driving it it will only rev to 4000rpm any ideas any1? Any advice would be greatfull Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 If it only happens when its cold then I would imagine it to be a coolant temperature sensor. If you plug in the OBD reader, can you select live data and read the coolant temperature when its cold. If its a ridiculous reading such as -30 degrees Centigrade or +25 degrees Centigrade for example then it is out of range but not flagging a code. Let us know what you find Quote
Andyv6 Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 It only revs to 4000rpm all the time even wen its at running temperature any ideas? Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I don't know about the kangeroo running but restricted revs could be the turbo variable vanes gummed up. Try cleaning the turbo with a proper turbo cleaning solution Quote
Andyv6 Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 Hi I got some extreme egr cleaner from wynns incase egr was blocked aswell. Will that clean turbo aswell? The turbo is only 2 years old Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 No, the cleaner you need for the turbo is for the variable vanes on the turbine (hot side) and this is very caustic but does the job. Either of these two will do: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INNOTEC-VARIABLE-VANE-TURBO-CLEANER-KIT/283742412523?epid=735246736&hash=item42105d9eeb:g:HYsAAOSwglJeHJJx https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Diesel-Engine-Turbo-Cleaner-Cures-Limp-Home-Mode-Variable-Vane-Turbos/152003334878?epid=1943810068&hash=item23641ad2de:g:lQ4AAOSwZ8ZW2O4l Quote
