Billy Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Hi all. I recently bought my 2016 Astra 1.4 sri turbo 2016,lovely car only 10.000 Miles on the clock but recently it's been getting a flat spot on acceleration. You put your foot down and nothing happens, its like its starved of fuel or something. Must admit I wasnt expecting this for such a new car. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening before I contact vauxhall. Thank you. Billy Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Hi....welcome to the Forum It sounds like the turbo variable vanes are gummed up. If you drive the car around locally and not take on long runs then this can occur. Quote
Billy Posted January 20, 2020 Author Posted January 20, 2020 Ok I will look into it. Thank you. Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 There are cleaning solutions to clear out the carbon but the most efficient way is to drive it hard to get the engine hot and start to clear out the carbon which will take time but you can gradually build up the revs as the system will allow without going into limp home mode.
