Hello everyone, I have had numerous vauxhalls over the years, my first 2 cars were cavaliers, I have owned novas, cavs, corsa, vectra and currently have a 1986 carlton 2.2 cde, which I believe is quite rare now.

Hi...welcome to the Forum

Wow!  you certainly seem to be working your way through the Vauxhall range!

The Carlton is now quite rare as you say, especially early examples in  rust free condition.

Good to have you onboard and feel free to post up some pics of the Carlton

Mine is not rust free, but in fairly decent condition, runs well and very comfy to drive. Fuel economy not for the faint-hearted.

This model of Carlton is in my opinion, is a great car. I drove a 1984 (A) reg one as a taxi back in 1989. It was lovely and comfortable, and went well. And like you say Nathanmills, fuel economy definitely not for the faint hearted. Around town it wasn't that bad, but getting on the open road on airport runs, well you just have too don't you. 😄
