Sylwester Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Hi, I need to know the spec of the bolts which hold down the front seats in Astra mk4 (I am sure these are the same in mk5?) I know that they are a torx but need the specifics please. When doing a previous repair I think I sheared the bolt when tightening it to put the chair back in. Now I want to replace the seats (as the driver one is knackered) and am worried that I wont be able to get the bolt off OR I will be able to get it off but wont be able to get it back on. I already bought the seats and quite eager to get them in! IF you know the name/spec of these bolts or if you have a manual which contains this please let me know. Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Not sure of the exact specification of the bolts but I would be tempted to remove one from one of the seats and source some replacements at Screwfix or similar store Quote
Sylwester Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 I think intimately that is what I will have to do - I read online that its an 'M8' bolt. I found very similar ones on Ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122038906892 Just not sure of the length and I don't want to gamble... I could buy an assortment hmmm only just thought of that! Thanks for your reply Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 Good luck with it and at least you'll have some spare bolts which are always handy to have to hand Quote
