Parv Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Hi all can anyone help me I have noticed my passenger side rear footwell is wet when it rains I can not see where the water is leaking from as the door seals seem fine Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 It may be coming through the rear light unit as there is a gasket behind it that shrinks over time. Worth taking out and sealing with silicon and then refitting to see if that makes a difference Quote
AndyR Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Hi there, also as another suggestion. Is the rear window shut fully? My sister in law has a 16 plate Astra, and the dog catches the winder , and although it looks shut from inside, it's open enough to let water in when it rains heavy. Might be worth checking. Quote
Crutch Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Hi, I had this. Basically under your sill are about 6 plastic bungs. They are blocked. They need taking out and cleaning. Water, whether it be rain, and road water will track through voids in your cars bodywork and needs to escape through these plastic bungs, but over time dirt deposits in the water block them up, hence why your rear carpet gets wet. AndyR Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Hi Crutch, I see you have the Astra H , are these plastic bungs on the Astra G as well? I have not had this problem yet, so a tip like this one is valuable knowledge to pass on to other owners. Regards Andy. Quote
