DanielH Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Hi all I have a 2010 Vauxhall Astra, 1.7 cdti I am aware that it has a BCM from a different Astra which has been changed over at some point in its history. The remote central locking from the key doesn’t work. Our local Timpsons say the battery sends a signal to the car and can’t quite understand why it won’t work. Is this likely to be linked to having a different BCM? Will a central locking receiver be needed or will it simply need a new programmed key? Only the drivers door unlocks when I manually unlock the door and I have to press the ‘unlock’ button on the dash to unlock the other doors. The MD say they can't read the ECU (for a recall) because the BCM was changed, at some point! Please help! Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Sounds like a strong possibility but if the BCM had changed I would have thought they would have coded the key in. Me personally, I would live with it rather than going to the expense of coding in units and keys, etc Quote
