Jameslx Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Combo (58) 1.7 D Can anyone point me in the right direction.... I have idle issues.. I have been aware of this for a few year now, where the idle will hunt ever so much (700 - 800 Rev) this is from cold. I on super cold morning it up at 1000 Revs, however soon settles back down, but this still ever so hunting. I found that when the vehicle has had a good run when coming off the escalator the vehicle stools, On restarting the engine the rev hunt / bounce from 500 - 1200 and it doesn't settle and stools again. Giving the engine some escalation don't help, the hunt just bounces higher. Dealership told me to check / change the fuel fitter which I did 18 months ago and it helped. So about a month ago I did it again but this fault is back again. I feel this stooling / large hunting is more likely to be happening when the engine is hot.... Any thoughts what could be causing this?? Taking you all in advance. James Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 I would say it sounds more like carbon build up in the EGR and intake system. Using a fuel additive as well as an EGR cleaner or even a Terraclean on the engine would help cure this issue Quote
