Wheels Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Morning All, i have a astra J 2011 Estate 1.7cdti - been driving it a little while now and since driving it every now and again i am unable to select a gear. i pop the clutch down go to select and it feels like it wont go in. been under the bonnet and moved the clutch arm on top of the gearbear box by hand which moves the pedal internally and then i am able to select gears again. it has only happened twice but want to catch it and resolve it early. has anyone had this issue before?? - i had thought about trying the below but any advice would be greatly appreciated Re bleed system - i know its connected to the brake lines so could still have air in system? replace master cylinder? clutch pedal return spring? Cheers Wheels Quote
Wheels Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 Edit - sorry dont mean clutch arm. Mean gear selector on the very top of the box Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 It could be air in the system or a worn clutch cover diaphragm Worth trying to select 2nd gear and then shifting to first.....happened a lot on older french cars and was a good way of selecting reverse or first gears Quote
