Hi there, hope someone can shed some light. My 2010 insignia cdti Sri handbrake service light has started playing up, when I try to disengage the break most times it work fine with no worries but on occasion it fails to disengage & I'll get a message on the displays saying to service the handbrake. The handbrake service light comes on but is flashing as opposed to a solid warning light... the handbrake will disengage without pressing again normally within 20 seconds & the light will continue flashing... when I'm driving sometimes it stays on flashing or sometimes it just goes off all together?

Maybe worth stripping the rear brakes to ensure the pads are not sticking in the carrier and then reset the handbrake if necessary

Hi does anyone know why my hand break sign is flashing red and my hand brake won’t release ? It’s an electric hand brake
