Hi,

I have an Vauxhall Insignia 2013 2.0 Diesel. A few months ago I noticed a clunk noise when the clutch pedal returned to its normal position. This then stopped so I thought nothing else of. However, my partner was driving the car the other day, and only told me today that the clutch pedal did not return and she had to use her foot to lift it up. I read online that it could be the slave cylinder, or the master cylinder. I can't see any leaks, and the reservoir is still full. I then read something else about the return spring, which I looked at earlier and one end had popped out, so I put it back in. Since then, it has happened again with the clutch not returning. My partner said she couldn't select any gear apart from reverse earlier, but I haven't had any issue selecting any gear. There is no noise, or over reving when selecting a gear either. Could it be that the return spring has lost its recoil? Or would it be something more like the clutch itself, the flywheel, or the slave/master cylinders? Thanks.

My daughter in law has this same problem with a 2014 Corsa VXR to the extent that she will not drive it.Did you solve the problem and if so how. This problem is on many Vauxhall forums but no one has posted a definitive solution
