Hi everyone I’m pretty new here and I’m looking for some advise if possible.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve a 2.0 cdti 2015 insignia.

it’s done 126k and the clutch was close to the top and sometimes engaging gears was a little notchy so I decided to get the clutch done.

I purchased a flywheel and 3 part clutch from gsf and paid a clutch center to fit.

Upon paying for the labour they told me the slave wasn’t fitted and gave me a story they couldnt undo the torque bolts and it would be sat on there ramps for a week to get it drilled out and reassure me my old 126k slave was fine..

so I picked the car up and straight away my pedal was hard nothing like it was before infact half hour of drive and your foot hurts.

biteing point Is an inch of the floor.

engage gears seems to be poor have to really press hard on an hard clutch pedal.

the garage is telling me it’s nothing wrong with the slave it’s the pressure plate not adjusted right.

but I don’t believe that I feel it’s the slave that’s worn and not up to the job of pushing the falks on the pressure plate being much stronger with it being new.

do think this is the most likely culprit?

garage is taking no responsibility and even tho they are aware it’s wrong from the get go.

I’ve spoken to sachs technical and there saying I must try a new pipe line from the master to slave first which I think is a waste of time as it was perfectly fine before.

i have no leaks and clutch returns when engaged.

I’ve got it booked in to another garage but I guess I’m looking for advise as to weather I should just get them to fit me a new slave cylinder instead of falking out for a whole clutch kit.

any help would be most appreciated

Give Frank a ring from MB Motors Keighley.  Hes just done a timing chain clutch and flywheel and full service on my Insignia and it drives like a new car. Hes a Gentleman and what he does not know about Vauxhall is not worth knowing.  When I returned home to Durham from his Garage in Keighley  a heater plug warning light come on  so I rang for advice.  He turned up the next day (bear in mind its a 5 hour round trip), he plugged the diagnostic in and confirmed it needed a new heater plug and done all this free of charge. When I asked why he come all that way he said he won't leave an unhappy customer. Unbelievable service.
