Daz530 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Hi I have a Meriva B 1.6cdti 2014 & am in the process of turbo rebuild as developed a whistling on acceleration each time the turbo kicked in , eventually engine light apperead , limp mode & error P0299 . so I’m hoping I’m on the right track by replacing the turbo cartridge as existing has play in vain shaft & oil leaking in turbo housing , If I’m looking in the wrong place please feel free to advise on other possible causes however that aside I’m in need of the banjo washers for the feed pipes of the turbo , The oil & water feed pipe banjo seals , Can I use copper seals or do they need to be specific type & anyone know the sizes many thanks d Franklin Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 It sounds like a sensible way to proceed if there is wear in the turbo Usually best to buy a fitting kit when you purchase the cartridge then its a straightforward enough job Just remember that with a turbo rebuild 'cleanliness is next to godliness' and the slightest bit of dirt can destroy it almost instantly. Also change oil and filter and then pre-fill and prime the turbo to get the oil round before firing the engine Quote
