Insignia steve Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Hello. I’m not the most clued up person on cars. But I’ve recent purchased an insignia CDTI 2.0 SRI on a 59 plate. It’s done 134k and for the first week it ran really well. All of a sudden. Out of nowhere. It started bellowing out blue smoke. And it absolutely stinks. I recently did a long trip. And the particulate filter warning came on. Thing is when I’m driving along and the blue smoke is coming out. If I cut off the engine. And strike it back up. The blue smoke stops. For about 10-15mins. Then it comes back again. I know it’s not the filter regenerating. Because the smoke on my last car was white. Im not sure if the person who I bought it off has had me or this issue is purely coincidental. Can anyone advise me on what this issue could possibly be? And how much it could potentially cost? Thanks Steve Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I do wonder if the turbo is leaking past the shaft when it gets hot and under load? You should source where it is ingesting the oil as this can also damage the DPF and lead to extra costs Quote
