stevewidds Posted Wednesday at 03:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:27 PM Good morning people, i will try and keep this short, over the last 12 months or more when on mainly on the motorway if you give the car a little extra gas it sometimes flashes service car soon and start to lose power if you turn the key off and on even at the same speed the car seems to sort it self out, and we have just put up with this issue, now last week i decided to service the car and do the cam belt and water pump and all filters. when i then went to start the car after all the work it wouldn't start now my first thought was i bugger up on the cambelt so i checked the timing and all was good, i could hear the in tank pump priming which i had and have done a 1000 times lol although the pump did seem to be making a squeak while priming, i replaced fuel filter with another new one and still the same no start and strange noise from pump. now eventually the car did start very lumpy and then settled down i then took the car for a drive and the previous fault mentioned was back but 1 million times worse and was un drivable due to constantly stalling so what have i done since. changed in tank fuel pump. fuel filter housing. blown out fuel lines. and found that i have a good flow of fuel to the hpfp but nothing going to the fuel rail, now my next thought there would be a new high pressure fuel pump. when i prime the in tank pump as soon as it starts to make pressure and becomes noisy obviously hpfps are rather expensive and just thought i would ask for peoples opinions before spending. sorry about all the waffle but thought it was better to give all the details cheers steve. Vauxhall Owners Club Posted Thursday at 08:41 AM Posted Thursday at 08:41 AM I would be tempted to scan the fuel system electronics and see what the live data comes up with, could be a fuel pressure sensor issue or air being drawn into the fuel system (slight leak in the filter housing area, etc) Quote
